Desperate Housewives: It’s Definitely Not Father’s Day!

Desperate Housewives Mother Said Wow was this ever a good episode. I can’t wait till next week’s season finale, it looks to be even better. The episode began with Bree confronting Edie over the Orson situation, and then Bree sabotaging Edie’s real-estate clients. Eddie went to see Orson to get him to get Bree off her back, which is when she found a statement Orson had written out about Daniel and Austin and the baby. Edie being Edie used it to try and blackmail Bree into being her new best friend and baking slave. Faced with a life of blackmail, Bree told the girls the truth about Daniel and the baby. They all then confronted Edie, telling her they were no longer friends and they walked away from her. Edie then packed up and left Wisteria Lane . . . for now. I am beginning to think that Orson’s time on Wisteria Lane might also be coming to an end soon. I don’t think Bree will forgive him for what he’s done, especially with Edie. As for Edie, for someone who claimed all she wanted was to be included in the girls club and their friends, she sure took the wrong way going about it. I’m glad they finally kicked her to the curb.

Mike’s mama came for a visit to help Susan as the baby’s due date gets closer. Basically she wanted to try and help Susan learn to be a “proper” wife and spent the whole episode criticizing Susan for all her faults, which Mike told his mom about. It seems she could only remember her faults and nothing good Mike said! She had the best line in the whole episode when sharing her family recipes with Susan, some of which went back to before “the war of Northern aggression.” That was hilarious! When Mike’s mama decided to just move in until the baby comes, Susan pretended to go into labor so she’d get the hell out! Eventually she made Mike tell his mom that she had to stop insulting Susan. She of course was just mortified and didn’t mean to be insulting her with her comments. This is of course when Susan really went into labor. Frankly I think the one Susan should have been angry with was Mike. I mean the man must just do nothing but complain to his mama about Susan!

Gabby and Carlos began taking a liking to their new tenant Ellie, who even bonded with Gabby over mother’s day because she had such a poor relationship with her own mother and felt like Gabby had taken her in. Okay hello, Gabby isn’t old enough to be “Mallory’s” mother! Gabby soon found out that Ellie hasn’t been giving tattoos (duh!) but selling cocaine. She saw the bricks under her bed, which she knew what they were because as she said, she was a fashion model in the 80s. She and Carlos went to the cops, but they already knew and had been investigating Ellie. They want to get to her supplier and now Carlos and Gabby have to play along with Ellie as if nothing is wrong. The problem of course is they like her and don’t want to see her busted, but Carlos is on probation and that can’t be risked. Something tells me Gabby is going to single handily blow the investigation for the cops on this one in order to save Ellie.

The spawn of the devil continued her reign of terror in this episode. Lynette and Tom brought a psychologist to the house to observe things, and of course Kayla played up to him. The psychologist decided that Kayla needed to really bond with Lynette and they should do everything together to form that bond. Kayla of course started demanding things and when Lynette stood her ground, she threatened to get Penny to do something to hurt herself next. Lynette hauled off and slapped the demon. She apologized, but Kayla held a grudge . . . as did Tom! Tom once again sided with Kayla, which just ticked me off. He constantly sees her as some victim in all of this, he can’t see she’s Satan. Shave her head, I’m sure they’ll find a 666! Kayla of course then called up the doctor crying, saying her mommy hit her, and it wasn’t the first time. This has got to be her downfall, as CPS would have to come in and interview the other kids too. No doubt they’d find out Kayla was a lying serpent? Of course the twins being the twins, they’d probably say how mean their mommy is to them as they are currently grounded. I’m starting to have a bad feeling that the death that comes in the season finale could be connected to Kayla.

Speaking of death . . . . have we finally uncovered what is going on with Katherine? Determined to nip any relationship with Wayne and Dylan in the bud, she told Wayne that Dylan wasn’t even his kid. He had a DNA test run and found out it was true. Furious Wayne decided to tell Dylan the truth about her mother and her lies. However before he could, he seemed fixated on her arms . . . as if something should be there but wasn’t. A birthmark? A scar? Wayne is now even more angry than ever at Katherine and seems to know what’s going on.

It seems all the pieces of the puzzle are falling into place and we are back to the first guesses made at the beginning of the season. Is Dylan not Dylan after all? When she first came onto the show she couldn’t remember Julie or their friendship or any of her time on Wisteria Lane. All she remembered was a man standing over her bed. Is the real Dylan dead? Is she what is buried in the backyard? Did Katherine kidnap a kid and replace her dead daughter? That’s what it’s looking like. That’s however too easy, I’m hoping another twist will happen.

  3. Kidnapping a kid to replace her dead daughter (Dylan) sounds similar to the plot of the first season (Mary Alice kidnapping a baby to raise as her own). Kinda hoping for something a bit different this time around. But it does seem as if this Dylan is not the original Dylan.
