Desperate Housewives Go Back To The Future? Rumor Alert!
Posted by Dustin on 04.08.2008 at 1:06 pm
A rumor is floating around from TVGuide that at the end of this season the show may fast forward five years into the future, and next season it will pick up there. What what what !?! I have to say I don’t think I like this idea at all. First all the kids will pretty much have to be recast, and I love Lynette’s little terrors! I just don’t get this, unless it’s a ratings ploy? Grrrr!
I’ve made this the new poll on the page. Vote and also feel free to leave your own thoughts here.
Tim, Heidi and the others from “Project Runway” may have a new network come fall. Lifetime Television made a deal with the shows creators The Weinstein Company to purchase the show for their network from Bravo/NBC. NBC, as one can imagine, is fighting this with a lawsuit. “Project Runway” is basically the cornerstone of Bravo’s reality based television shows, it was among the first and inspired many of the various reality shows the network has done since (“Top Chef,” “Top Cut,” “Make Me A Supermodel,” etc. . . .). The next season of “Project Runway” will begin shooting in June and air . . . . somewhere . . . . this fall. Tim and Heidi are expected to make the jump to Lifetime. No word yet on Michael Kors or Nina Garcia.

First up, I seem to be suffering from “unable to pay attention” syndrome tonight. I was listening to the show, but often forgot to actually look up and WATCH. Plus I had a browser crash during the middle to make things worse. Sorry!
Kristy and Marc danced the Pasa Double this week to New Order’s “Blue Monday.” The judges couldn’t agree on whether or not Kristi unleashed the drama or not. Len didn’t think she did, Bruno did, Carrie Anne agreed with Bruno and loved them. They received their first 10s, two of them, and they got a 29.
Priscilla and Louis danced the Viennese Waltz to some song I didn’t recognize (could have been an Aretha song). The judges thought she was elegant as always, but she did a lift (that may have been an accident) which was forbidden in this dance. They got 22.
Adam and Julianne danced the Pasa Double to some traditional Spanish song. Adam came out in a Zorro outfit on a unicycle! The judges said it was interesting, that he still isn’t much of a dancer, though he is a lovable guy. They got a 19.
Marlee and Fabian danced the Viennese Waltz to “She’s Always A Woman To Me.” The judges were moved by her performance, Carrie Anne to the point of tears. They got a 24.
Mario and Karina danced the Pasa Double to Red Hot Chilli Pepper’s “Higher Ground.” I thought it had too much modern dancing thrown in, but the judges seemed to like it, though Len was a bit hard on him. They got a 24.
Jason and Edyta did the Viennese Waltz to “This Is A Man’s World.” The judges said it was a great dance, it had wow factor. They got two 10s as well and tied with Kristi with a 29.
Christian and Cheryl danced the Pasa Double to a traditional song I don’t know. I thought they had one of the best dance of the night, at least the most energy. The judges felt it was a fine performance, that he was totally in character. They got a 26.
Shannon and Derek danced the Viennese Waltz to Avril Lavign’s “Keep Holding On.” The judges said it was elegant and beautiful, Len called it the best dance he saw all night. They got a 28, with the only 10 from Len and his first of the season.
Marissa and Tony danced the Pasa Double to another traditional Spanish song. The judges loved it, Carrie Anne said this is what she’s been waiting for, Len said keep it up, Bruno said they saw a side of her they hadn’t before. They got a 24, their best score so far.
On Tuesday’s show Sheryl Crow will be the guest performer. Next Monday will be Latin night with rumbas and sambas.
Christian Siriano, winner of “Project Runway: Season 4” appeared on “Access” tonight and gave a little scoop about his upcoming appearance on “Ugly Betty.”
Christian will play a vamped up version of himself (his words) and will storm the conference room to see Willamina, followed by three models decked out in his own designs. He’s there to impress Willy, who wants his fashions for the magazine as do Vogue and Elle (this must be where Nina Garcia comes into play).
Also Becky Newton (Amanda) will be wearing some of Christian’s clothes. When we last saw her she was fronting a band to impress her dad Gene Simmons. She’ll continue with this rocker-chick thing and Christian will design some outfits for her.

So this week we saw James break down crying to Adam, blubbering about how basically he doesn’t want to leave and it’s hitting him that he is.
Adam put up Sharon and Sheila for eviction, which steamed Sheila as well as Ryan and Natalie, who are in his alliance. Adam said something during the nominations that I fully didn’t understand, but I believe what he told the house was that if they wanted James out then they would have to fight to and win the veto. Sheila was disgusted, Natalie thinks he’s a moron and Ryan said it was a cowardly thing to do which will come back to get him.
“Ghost Whisperer” returned last night with a new episode “Home Is Not Alone.” In this episode a slightly aged Ned went on his first date with a girl, and felt like something else was there too, watching over them and protecting his date. He thought it was her dad, who died recently. It turned out it was her mom who had died of cancer. The girl, her older sister and little brother buried their mother in their yard to hide this. The older sister was taught to do the mom’s job from home and they kept up the charade she was still alive, knowing that if it was found out the state would separate them all. Melinda soon learned it wasn’t the father’s ghost, but the mother’s who was watching over them and wouldn’t leave them alone. She also learned the mother had a sister, her only living relative, who she hadn’t seen in years. As it turns out the mother went through a similar thing when her parents died, the sister was old enough to take her in legally (she was 19) but didn’t because she wasn’t ready herself. The mother was then put up for adoption, she never forgave her sister or saw her again. In the end Melinda found the sister and put them back together, and the sister took in the kids so they wouldn’t be separated.
For me the episode was just okay. I mean we have been separated from “Ghost Whisperer” for months and this is what they give us? They should have come back with a bang. This episode could have been shown later as a filler episode. Give us more of the story of what is going on with the father and half-brother. That is what they should have returned with. Next week’s episode looks much better, and also would have been a good starter episode. This episode has someone tormenting Melinda for being a witch (hint it’s that journalist from the school who snooped on the Professor and Melinda once).
