Brothers and Sisters: Incest Issues!
Oh boy, “Brothers and Sisters” went “there!” Let’s get to the latest episode.
Robert met with the republican candidate for President, who just as Kitty called it, wanted Robert to join him as the VP. Robert knew that he was needed to get the moderates to vote, but was unsure how much of a role he’d have. Taylor promised he’d have a voice and would listen to all his suggestions, but Robert didn’t know if that meant he’d actually take his advice. He ultimately turned him down. Taylor later told Kitty that Robert will one day regret this decision, and he’ll probably blame her. She then told him off, saying Robert makes his own decisions. Also in this episode, Kitty got the bad news that none of the embryos harvested are viable. Something tells me we’ll be seeing a possible adoption in the future, mimicing Calista’s real life choice to adopt a child.
Saul went behind Sarah’s back this week and allowed Graham to go through with the deal with the Chinese food company. When Sarah found out she was rightly furious, but Saul felt he had been doing this longer than most of them and to trust that he knew what he was doing. She ultimately gave up some of her control and trust issues and decided to trust that Saul and Graham knew what they were doing. Well it looks like Sarah’s first instincts were right . . . the company they made the deal with went under and now the bank is set to call back a 20 million dollar loan! Spoilerish thoughts ahead! We know from spoilers Holly somehow comes to the rescue. I have a feeling the orchard might be getting sold off to save Ojai. With Rebecca confronting her mother next week about the truth of her paternity, I’m thinking she may push Holly to do this as they really don’t have any right to any of William’s money (even if he did leave it to them). In the previews Rebecca is screaming at her mom that she let William die thinking he was her father.
Over to Scotty and Kevin. Scotty cut himself on the job and ended up with an expensive ER bill because of the lack of health insurance. Kevin, practical as always, suggested a domestic partnership so that Scotty could have his health insurance benefits and other stuff. I knew Kevin was going to take the practical and logical approach, and it ticked me off. Fortunately Scotty shot him down. I loved when he said this was as close to marriage as they could get, and maybe he was acting like a 12 year old girl, but he wanted his wedding day to be special and meaningful. I’ve never really liked Scotty all that much, but in this episode I did.
Finally on to the storyline that we were all really waiting and watching for. Rebecca got the test results . . . congratulations David, it’s a girl! I’m not shocked the show did this. Justin and Rebecca’s characters will eventually need love interests, they have great chemistry as is, so why not put them together rather than hire two additional actors. Rebecca told David the truth, and he stepped up and tried to do the noble thing. He convinced her not to tell anyone about this, continue life as a Walker because it did make her happy. He then made a lame excuse to Holly to skip town, saying a movie project came up. While it might have been noble he wanted Rebecca to be happy, he also encouraged her to live a lie. I don’t think she can do that, and I don’t think we’ve seen the last of David either.
Rebecca did however try and keep up the lie, telling Justin that David wasn’t her father. He hugged her, but she commented she wasn’t sure if he was happy or disappointed. Justin assured her that he was happy, but he didn’t sound like it. He then took her out to go surfing and you could tell he has the hots for his sister by the way he was looking at her and touching her. Ew make the ickyness stop! From the previews next week with Kevin telling Justin he has to stay away from Rebecca, that must mean he’s admitted to them he has feelings for their “sister.” Oh I hope Rebecca comes clean and soon, this is giving me icky feelings watching and wondering what is going through Justin’s head.

I’m with you on Scotty. Not sure what it is, but he doesn’t seem to mesh well with the rest of the cast.
The piece with Sarah finding something has to come into play here as well. She is going to turn over every leaf to try and save Ojai…
Ick and ewww. The ONLY redemption here is that WE know she isn’t a Walker. It was so obvious that he was really hoping David was her father by how anxious he was for the results to come back. I think Justin is going to pick up on the act pretty quick tho and how many non-Walker traits she has… thhe first was how coordinated she is when he was teaching her to surf.
How many episodes do we have left for this year?

I believe there are only 2 new episodes left this season. I should have the PRs in the B&S section.

Yep. Let me just say they can leave us seriously hanging here b/c there is a LOT to deal with right now. 🙁

Kristen on E! said whatever Sarah finds out reduces one walker to tears at the end of the season finale.
Also someone is getting arrested for something! Me thinks it might be Graham because it looks like Saul comes out officially.

I LOVE this show. The writing is great. I think that Graham is shady and I think that he may have something to do with the money that the dad was trying to hide when he died and somehow Graham was sent in to bring down the Walker Business. That is just my thought.
I think the story of Rebecca and Justin will be good.
I don’t think Kitty and Robert will stand the test of time.
I want to see more of Scotty! He is so good for Kevin.
Anywho… those are just some of my thoughts on the show.
Oh! and Dustin, I put a link to this site from my site. Let me know if you want me to take it down 🙂

Scotty is annoying and IMO is not right for Kevin and I’m glad he said no to the partnership, but I thought the spoilers had told a different story for them?
Saul should have listened to Sarah and backed out of the deal. I never really to cared for Graham anyway.
Why O why couldn’t Rebecca stay a Walker that way she’s always connected to them. Now that she’s not her and her ex-brother are going to be lovers now, the Walker family dinners are already crazy enough. I had liked Justin and Tyler from last season I was hoping to see more of them, and if the first person we get to see Rebecca date on the show is her ex-brother that’s nasty.

Agree — I don’t see Kitty and Robert staying together too long. I’m betting they can’t get pregnant and then he doesn’t want to adopt — would rather get his career back on track. (They totally rushed into this marriage w/out thinking AT ALL.)
Agree — Scotty isn’t the one for Kevin. Even though he can put up with Kevin’s wack-o crap, he’s not fitting into the family. (Witnessed at the benefit dinner.) Time for new material for Kevin.
Sort of agree — the Justin/Rebecca thing is WEIRD. But I like that they took a risk and made her turn out to not be a Walker. If we can get past the weirdness (maybe give Rebecca’s character a Walker hiatus), I think they can bring Justin & Rebecca together as a couple. They are so comfortable with each other and she’s already proven to be a source of strength for him. I think they’d be good together (once the ex-brother part is made clear).
Not so sure — Graham. Part of me suspects sleaze. He did swoop in, get paid to make suggestions/plans and he topped it off by romancing the CEO. Does any of this sound like Graham fluffing his nest? The only part that pulls me back from crucifying him is that he was there when Saul told Sarah about the agreement going down the tubes. Will have to see how this plays out from here…
This episode, I liked the decorator asking Nora what she wanted. There’s a good question.
