American Idol: Shocking Eviction!
American Idol: Shocking Eviction!
Tonight the bottom three were Carly, Syesha and Michael Johns . . . and Michael was sent packing! Wow, he wasn’t my favorite, but I could name others that should have gone before him.
i can not believe that michael was the one to go!
him and david a. are my favorites!
i was literally screaming at the TV when they said he was the one to go.
but, who knows. maybe he’ll be the next daughtry.

At this point all I can say is (heaven help me!!!) there needs to be some sort of super delegate/judge weigh in here. After the Thing with hair stayed in so long last year and now this???? SOMETHING is wrong with the voting and while this is only my 3rd year watching, it may well be my last.

I said last year i feel the judges need a say, like with dwts. that way it kinda evens out. With it all in the hands of the viewers, it boils down to a popularity contest.
Kelly Clarkson and the country girl really are the only Idols to have made it big. Reuban had an album and success, but runner up Clay got more. Daughtry was voted off around #4 or 5 and he’s bigger than most. That taylor guy, yeah where is he now lol. Fantasia last i heard is doing broadway. Meanwhile Jennifer Hudson has an oscar on her shelf lol.

Michael Johns was one of my favs and I can’t believe he was gone. I know I predicted him in the bottom three along with Carly and Syesha but I thought Ryan would send him to safety and then eliminate Syesha.
At least David Cook is still in the competion. He’s also one of my favs and I think he could win the whole thing…though I know it’s probably more in David A’s favor at the moment. I like him but he’s not really one of my favs.

It’s not really even a popularity contest. It boils down to who has the most frenzy fans who will call and vote again and again for the full two hours.
I have never even voted because I know my one vote isn’t going to make a difference amongst those kind of voters. And I do not have the time to do nothing but vote for a full two hours.
Michael was one of my favorites too. Hopefully he will go on to be successful. I’m still watching though, because there are still a lot of contestants left that I enjoy watching.

I have never voted for American Idol mainly cause it always cost money. Now that Cingular got bought by AT&T I THINK I can text vote for free, unless they tack on another feee.
i have voted for Dancing with The stars cause i can do it online and for free lol.

The 877 numbers are free – are they always busy?

I thought they used to charge for some reason.
I think i do remember trying to call one before, yes they are usually jammed lol.

Well, did I ever do my hissy fit last night! LOL Fuming and swearing I won’t watch the show until Sayesha gets booted. For a sec, I really hated her lol. I know, not her fault. I’m over it. I will keep on watching….BUT
I still want her off! I don’t know if it’s the fact that she’s an actress but everything comes out phony when she sings. It’s all on surface, nothing from the inside. On the positive side, she does have a great voice. But Paula needs to stop buttering up her comments, saying how good these bottom dudes and dudettes are! Guess more people listen to her then Simon! LOL
I feel better now!
Helen out!

I thought they used to charge but they don’t now, I looked it up on the website. I was shocked to see Michael go, simply because they haven’t always kicked people off after the Idol Gives back night. I’d love to see Jason or David Cook go but I think I’ll be stuck watching both of the a lot longer. Boo.

I think they almost had to actually vote someone off this week. If they set the precedent that no one gets voted off during Idol gives back week, would people still tune in to see the performances?
04.11.2008 at 7:45 pm
I have voted and there are no charges, though I don’t vote for two solid hours. I vote at least once if I can get the phone. Texting costs I believe, but I heard some guy on the radio saying that if you do that they will email you stuff like “Tune in tonight for the premiere of so and so at whatever time.”
Also has anyone noticed the pattern going on here? The first one to go was David H, then Amanda, then Chikezie, last week it was Ramiele, and now Michael. It’s going boy, girl, boy, girl, boy…I’m guessing it will continue by this pattern next week with Syesha. I know I’ve said that she would go before but I do think a lot of the fans will blame her for Michael Johns early departure even though it was not her fault.
Personally I am not a fan of Syesha’s. I haven’t really liked her all that much, cause I’ve had several favorites this year, but I’m seeing David Cook as the winner. I think he’s more original than some of the others, though I do wonder if he will wind up like Michael and getting into Chris Daughtry territory and winding up getting voted off earlier than he should.

Here are two thoughts for changes they could make – this year even – to improve this. 1- Let us vote on line and 2- let us vote to bring someone back.
