Voted Off On Idol (And Other News)

Posted by Dustin on 03.19.2008 at 9:58 pm

As always, spoilers for the West Coasters out there!

First up, my plan was to switch between “Idol” and “Big Brother” tonight, but I lost power and was out both for thirty minutes. So whatever important news was announced in the first half, I missed it! Grrr!

The “Idol Gives Back” show will air on April 9th.

Amanda Obermeyer ended up in the bottom three, Carly Smithson (OMG) and Kristy Lee Cook all ended up in bottom three. Carly was safe, so Kristy and Amanda ended up in the bottom two. Amanda was voted off tonight.

*Addition* Per an anonymous shoutbox user, Dolly Parton, Mariah Carey, Neil Diamond, and Andrew Loyd Webber will be among the mentors this season. From what I heard, Mariah will appear on the April 15th episode.

  3. I wonder if Vote for the Worst is not at it again, like they were with Sanjaya last year. I don’t think Kristy is the best vocalist on the show, but she is a likable in a way. Several of the others I agree have good vocals but don’t really show much personality on camera as they could.

  6. That site doesn’t seem to be effecting things to much this year as Amanda went out and Kristy barely escapes

  7. yeah and Danny was one of their choices too and he went out.

Carly in the bottom three was a shock!

It is interesting though that the bottom three were all girls. I think that shows the majority of the talent is with the guys this year.

  8. I think one of the reasons Carly was in the bottom three was because she doesn’t fit the stereo type for a ballad singer.
I agree that more of the girls are going to go home in the next couple weeks. Syesha and Ramiele I believe will go because they don’t show much of a personality on camera. I would like to see Kristy stick around for when Dolly Parton comes on, just to see what she says about Simon’s comment to Kristy about her singing like Dolly Parton on helium. It could be fun to watch, but they never announced dates for when the mentors would be on, so Kristy could be gone next week if she doesn’t improve big time.

  11. I agree on so many of these. Dolly, Beatles, Ramiele. I think Brooke and Carly are the two girls who will be around the longest and David A, David C and Michael Johns are the guys. My last girl for “top 6” was Syesha, but depending on who the first mentor is I’m not sure. If it’s Dolly Parton I think Kristy stays. If it’s Mariah I thikn Syesha stays b/c it seems she has a bigger range.
