Desperate Housewives: It’s A Twister!

Desperate Housewives: It’s A Twister!

So it was the big event, the tornado touched down on Wisteria Lane this week! This was one of, if not the best episode all season! Sadly, it looks to be the last until the writer’s strike ends.

Gaby and Carlos planned to run from Victor as the episode started. Good plan! Unfortunately a tornado was on it’s way as well and put a crimp in their plan. As Gabby and Carlos were packing, some guy came to bring Carlos the papers he needed to access his illegal funds, which of course were the only copies. So of course Edie intercepted them and Gabby caught her. It was clear where this one was going. A fight, the wind, goodbye papers to access all that money! I detester Edie! However Gabby and Edie were forced to take cover together and finally appeared to make amends. Gabby apologized, saying they never meant to hurt her. Edie meanwhile said she always knew Carlos would go back to her. It seems they’ve redeemed Edie, a little.

Meanwhile Carlos found Victor waiting at home and they got into a huge fight. It was goodbye Victor who got impaled by a piece of a flying picket fence. Twisted, but hilarious at the same time! Carlos was knocked out as well by a piece of flying debris.

Susan confronted Mike about habit, and he got angry, which lead to Susan storming off and an accident! Susan tumbled down the steps. Oh no! They headed to the hospital, fortunately everything was okay with the baby. However Mike started jonsin for a fix and ended up in an all out brawl with a doctor. When Susan was given pain meds, Mike actually begged her for one! Susan stayed strong, threatening to leave him if he didn’t get clean. Good girl! I was so afraid she was going to cave in.

Adam’s stalker and Katherine faced off this week. The stalked ended up at Bree’s house, claiming she and Adam had an affair and she could prove it as he had a tattoo on his arm. She locked herself in one of Bree’s room’s. Adam, Katherine, Bree, Orson and the baby had to hole up in a closet. As the tornado hit, the woman who claimed to have the affair finally came out of the room she was in. She told Adam she was leaving, this was her chance to stop her. She opened the door and was sucked out and up into oblivion! Is it terrible that I laughed? It was so outrageous! Meanwhile in the closet, Bree revealed what the stalker said about Adam’s tattoo, which she knew was a lie since she’d seen him at the pool and he didn’t have one. Katherine revealed he did have one, and she knew that Adam had cheated with this woman! So we know now Adam’s secret, he had an affair with a patient and was forced to settle. This cost them everything and is why they had to leave Chicago and move back to Wisteria Lane. Bree and Katherine bonded over the whole cheating hubby thing.

Lynette went over to Karen McLausky’s to ask if she and her family could hide out in her basement. Karen had already invited Ida over, Ida was her real friend. Karen gave it to Lynette saying they weren’t friends, Lynette only called on her when she needed her to watch her kids. Ouch! Karen eventually agreed to let them hide out there. I was wondering why she’s the only one with a basement? It would seem all the houses would have been made by the same company, so they’d all have basements? Oh well! Ida brought her cat with her. Unfortunately Tom was allergic to cats. When Lynette suggested they put it upstairs I thought “Oh no you didn’t Lynette!” I loved Ida’s response that they could put Penny up there with her, since it was so safe! When Tom started having trouble breathing, sneaky Lynette let the cat out! Karen went to chase it, Lynette followed her. They both ended up outside as the tornado came. They sought shelter in Lynette’s house, jumping in a tub and putting a mattress over them. They survived the storm, and I guess are not friends? However when they went outside, Karen’s house was completely gone! The entire thing had collapsed in on itself.

And now we are left with one hell of a cliffhanger! “Desperate Housewives” is usually good about their cliff hangers, but this one could be one hell of a wait if the writers strike doesn’t end soon.

  5. I LOVED this episode. I can’t believe we now have to wait until this stupid strike is over to see how it turns out. Yeah, I know people die, but I want to see the clean-up and aftermath. Having live in Tornado Ally my whole life, I have seen this happen far too many times. I just want to see how Hollywood handles it.

  6. there was a spoiler that said 1 dies from the tornado and 1 dies from from something else.
another spoiler said it was victor and Ida, so i’m assuming……the basement is intact with tom and kids surviving and ida passing from possibly a heart attack?
I do know that Lynettes scream at the end sent CHILLS thru me…. wow.

  7. OMG I loved Karen giving it to Lynette. She walkes all over here and then still makes demands. I come from a large family myself and I know that as a child if i behaved the way Lynettes kids i’d have been beaten within a inch of my life, yet Lynette always seems surprised that her pack of deamons aen’t the most welcome everywhere. Thank god Karen finally said something. And Lynette going after the cat and her and Karen’s survival of the tornado doesn’t make her a friend, it just proves that her mother raised her to know when you mess everything up you have to fix it.

  8. Loved the scene of Victor and the fence. Really good work for DH and special effects. I heard it was Victor and Ida too that dies, so I believe it. Of course, this is DH and since they have some time on their hands they could always “rewrite” the 2nd half to throw us all off. The part I didn’t like was where was Andrew? We learned that Julie and the other girl were on a trip, but he was unaccounted for. I wish Bree would have called him at least. I loved the scream too. Lynette has the best scenes!!

  9. I guess I saw something completely different than everyone else at the end. I saw Lynette screaming and going toward HER house that was flattened, not Karens, where her family was. She and Tom have the only house with a picket fence in front, right? It was clearly, in my opinion, HER house….correct me if I am wrong.

  11. The only thing that still gets me about the Katherine/Adam situation is that all that still doesn’t explain why the daughter can’t remember anything from her past. Adam’s affair should have nothing to do with that, right?

  13. Maybe the “goodbye” was when Gaby and Carlos were getting out of town in the very beginning – Gaby had gathered all the girls together to tell them they were leaving since Victor was getting out of the hospital?

Maybe Katherine killed the daughter’s father and the daughter saw… Adam helped “get rid of” the memories? The affair just seems like the method to get them to Wisteria Lane but it seems Katherine got smacked with the truth that the affair really did happen.

  14. I think the house destroyed was Karen’s because didn’t they hide in the bath tub at Lynette’s house?

Apparently there was a casting call to play Dylan’s Dad – either memories or he finds them.

The goodbye between Gaby and the girls was before the narrator said someone would die and they would have to say goodbye to someone else. The narrator said this as they were all walking away to prepare for the tornado, after Gaby said she was leaving.

  16. I’m just saying the house that was destroyed had a white picket fence around it. Which leads me to believe it was the Scavo home. Maybe they hid in the bathtub at Karens house upstairs?

  17. SPOILER

The tornado story-line is a 2-parter. Julie survives the twister. Here are the final two hints you’re getting about the doomed duo: Both are recurring, and one has man parts and the other doesn’t. One of the people dying has requested his/her ashes be scattered at a baseball field. Source: Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide
Someone (Mike?) on Wisteria Lane is headed for a longish stint in rehab. Source: Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide
After the tornado hits Wisteria Lane, Mike finds himself once again in a hospital bed but this time, his injuries are quite serious (not deadly). Edie will be in need of a new house. Later, she and Gaby work together to spread another woman’s ashes. Tom and Lynette come face to face with Annabel Foster but, as expected, there is a twist to this. Bree tries to hook a contractor up with Andrew in the hope the contractor will do emergency repairs on her house. Source: TV Squad [Note: It seems that the Tom/Lynette storyline may be of Katherine/Adam and Sylvia.]

  18. I had to watch this episode twice to be sure about the houses. When Lynette goes to Karens house in the beginning you see both houses have white picket fences. When they run into the storm the cat goes under the Scavos car. They see the tornado and start to go for Karens house but have to turn around and go into the Scavo house where they ride out the storm in the bathtub. It was Karens house that was destroyed. I was confused at first too so I went back and paid very close attention even looking at the front porches. Thank goodness for Tivo.

  19. OK. Good deal April. Glad someone watched it twice. Hubby deleted it from DVR after we watched it. I was going from memory. Dumb move. LOL. I think we will find out that her family will all be ok and the basement stayed in tact. I just love this show!!!

  20. After Eady and Gabby’s fight in the street, the papers on the money blew away. I guess Carlos will not be able to get his hands on that money anymore. But on the bright side of things – Gabby should get alot of money from Victor.
