Are You Ready For More Knight Rider?

Posted by Dustin on 11.06.2007 at 12:22 pm

justin.jpg NBC has announced Justin Bruening (All My Children) is set to star in an upcoming 2 hour movie version of “Knight Rider.” For those who don’t know of the show, it was about a man named Michael Knight who basically played a vigilante hero/spy along with a computerized talking car named Kitt. In this new movie Bruening will play the son of Michael Knight. It’s not known how updated Kitt will actually be, or whether Kitt’s nemesis Car will make an appearance.

Since going off the air, the show has been revived a few times, with the TV movies “Knight Rider 2000” and “Knight Rider 2010” as well as a failed series “Team Knight Rider.” It’s unknown, but speculated, should the movie do well that it will serve as a pilot for a new “Knight Rider” show.

Desperate Housewives: Free of Cancer and Baby

Desperate Housewives: Free of Cancer and Baby

Posted by Dustin on 11.05.2007 at 8:30 pm

What the heck is going on with “Desperate Housewives?” The season started with such a bang and so much promise, but lately it just seems to be getting slower and slower with each episode. To be fair though, DH isn’t the only show I’m getting fed up with as of late. Anyways, let’s dish.

First up, Susan and Mike went to a genetics specialist, given the late in life pregnancy Susan is having, just to be safe. Mike apparently forgot he once told Susan his dad was dead, which he’s not, he’s just in jail for murder. She insisted they go see him to get a family history, only to find out he was an evil soulless man who didn’t regret the murder he committed or feel remorse. She later found out from him that he just can’t think about it, as it would drive him crazy if he did. Mike’s dad privately warned her that Mike was a popular guy in school until he was sent away, then his life took a dark turn and those demons aren’t gone. I really don’t like where this is going at all. Basically we’ve been warned Mike is going to turn out bad possibly. Can’t they leave Mike alone for once? It only took them 3 years to get him together with Susan!

Another storyline that is annoying me to no end is the Carlos/Gabby/Victor/Edie mess. I used to love Edie, but at this point I’m kinda wishing she had hung herself! Gabby and Carlos were planning to leave their significant others in this episode. Carlos did leave Edie, and pretended like his 10 million off shore account was a big fat lie, since she couldn’t seem to prove to the IRS it existed. Gabby meanwhile was tempted not to leave Victor by his dad and big fat check from him. When Carlos brought up his money, she had thinking to do. Then it seemed when Victor returned and vowed to do anything, even give up running for Governor to keep her, that Gabby didn’t know what she wanted! The episode ended with Edie exposing Carlos and Gabby’s affair. Like I said, maybe Edie should have just died at this point. She’s become such a spiteful and hateful character that I can’t have any sympathy at all for her.

Lynette took on a metaphor for her life in this episode. She was determine to rid her yard of the ground hog that invaded it unwanted. As she learned at the end of the episode she was cancer free, it was a bitter sweet moment as she found the dead ground hog which normally she wouldn’t have gone after with such a vengeance.

Finally the gays had a Halloween party and invited everyone. Well I don’t think they invited Susan, but she was out of town anyways. Danielle showed up at the party, defying mommy dearest, as her mother! It was the only costume she could pull off and be pregnant in. Of course her water broke, and Bree had to get Adam to secretly deliver the baby. He already knew she was faking though. Danielle then seemingly chose to leave her family and baby at the end of the show, even when it appeared Bree was giving her the chance to reconsider this. So where is this going to go? Is Danielle going to show back up later demanding her baby and ruining everything for Bree? That’s my bet.

As for Lee and Bob (the gays), can we do something with them other than making them props and the token gay couple? ABC made a big stink about bringing them onto the show, but so far they’ve done almost nothing with them! I guess I shouldn’t complain too much though. I mean hey, at least they aren’t the Applewhites!

Grey’s Anatomy: Are You A Couple?

Grey’s Anatomy: Are You A Couple?

Well Grey’s fans, it was yet another frustrating episode of “Grey’s!” I’m on some lists where I get sent articles about “Grey’s” and other shows, and more and more I’m seeing the articles dealing with “Grey’s” having negative titles like “Given Up On Grey’s Yet?” I’m finally now beginning to understand where the negativity is coming from. As much as I still enjoy parts of the show, others are just down right frustrating.

Of course the most frustrating storyline would be Izzy and George. They are holding hands, they are so happy, they’re going to have a steamy night of hot sex. Fortunately Izzy decided she couldn’t do it, it wasn’t right. I think I have figured out the method to Shonda’s madness here and why she’s dragged this out so long. She’s trying to make sure even those who liked George and Izzy become sick of them and want them apart!

The Chief, now living in a trailer next to Derrek, decided to have a “gentleman’s night.” Derrek and Mark couldn’t figure out if this involved strippers and porn, and asked around. Baily was sure it involved tassels and dollar bills going into g-strings. When they asked Hahn what she thought, saying they were concerned about this, she delivered the best line of the night asking them “Are you two a couple?”

Meredith continued to wallow in self pity over what to do about the Derrek situation. Meanwhile Alex seems to have completely forgotten Ava/Rebbecca and moved onto Lexie, only to be caught with her by none other than Meredith! Alex keeps digging himself deeper and deeper, and this could put more of a strain on Lexie and Meredith’s relationship.

Ugly Betty: Defying Gravity

Ugly Betty: Defying Gravity

Posted by Dustin on 11.02.2007 at 1:33 pm

I’ve been bad on commenting on “Ugly Betty” the past few weeks. Unfortunately it’s one of the only shows I watch that begins at 8pm, and I’m usually not yet done with all my work by then. So I turn it on, but only somewhat watch. I made an attempt to pay lots of attention last night as the show was built around the Broadway show “Wicked,” which I have seen and loved.

BEtty and Henry, who are dating in secret, made plans to go see “Wicked” finally. Betty tried to fool Danielle into getting tickets for her and Gio, who was back in this episode. However Gio pulled one over on Betty and decided he was going with her! Henry went with a young girl (his niece?). Danielle meanwhile showed up with Marlo Thomas, who was playing an important client/investor he’s trying to woo in the wake of the whole Alexis scandal that broke and is costing the magazine advertising money.

I absolutely loved the scenes of them all at Wicked, and loved they featured my favorite song from the show “Popular.” Unfortunately Henry and Betty got exposed when they climbed into Glinda’s bubble, which was lowered on stage with them. Daniel made Betty see dating Henry was stupid as she’d only get her heart broken. She then called it off, but after a talk with Hilda, decided it was back on. Oy! I’m still waiting to find out that the baby isn’t his. This is a soap after all, although it’s in prime time, but DNA is never accurate in soaps the first time around!

Willamina continued to plan her wedding, but people keep dropping out, including her bridesmaids. She decided to put in a call to Posh Spice! The previews for next week show someone getting shot at the wedding. Why do I get the feeling Claire, trying to take out Willy, will hit Bradford?

Finally Hilda got caught working at a restaurant called “Headlights,” which features waitresses wearing skimpy outfits and shirts that light up . . . . you get the picture I’m sure. Hilda had to admit she was fired from the salon for her big mouth. Justin and Ignacio pulled some money to buy her her own hair drying chair so she could start her own salon on the porch. By porch I hope they mean the front or back living room/rec room and not the actual porch outside. My grandma used to call the back extension onto her house the porch, so I’m really hoping they are using the same slang. I love Hilda, and there has always been that “trashy” element to her, but having a hair salon on your literal front porch? Please Justin don’t let her do it!

Dirty Sexy Money: I Raise And Call

Dirty Sexy Money: I Raise And Call

Posted by Dustin on 11.01.2007 at 1:53 pm

So last night on “Dirty Sexy Money”Nick meet with Simon Edler, who promised Nick the real report on his father’s death . . . if Nick could get Tripp to give up Darling Plaza. The billionaires club was meeting for their annual poker game, he wanted to win that property. Simon wouldn’t say what it was for though.

Nick talked to Tripp about the game, but when Darling Plaza was brought up, Tripp refused. That was their first house living in Manhattan, he couldn’t give it up. He wanted to know why Nick was pushing it?

Cut to the game, where a little argument ensued between Nick and Tripp over using Darling Plaza, he told him no. Nick pushed, saying if he could win then what was the risk. He bet . . . and lost! Of course we later learned it was all a set-up. Nick told Tripp everything, Tripp agreed to lose the property to find out who killed Dutch. This was very obvious, you could smell this coming. This makes me think Simon probably smelled it too.

Simon gave Nick the report, the mechanic did in fact tamper with the plane that killed his father. When Nick went to the police, duh duh duh duh, the mechanic was found dead that morning. So who covered it up? Simon? Tripp? Maybe Dutch himself?

In other stories going on, Tripp tried to set up a fake blackmail/tabloid scandal with Patrick and his girlfriend, to try and teach Patrick a lesson about how he was running for Senate and possibly President later on, he couldn’t risk it all. He tried to pay off the girlfriend, but she wouldn’t take the money and told Patrick what was going on. Patrick was furious, and later met with Simon Elder! Uh Oh! What’s going on, is he hitting him up for a campaign donation or perhaps selling his dad out?

Karen found out in this episode that she never officially divorced her last husband. Oops! She had to go have him sign the papers, and ended up in bed with him. Her ex was Eddie Cibrian, who was playing a world renowned anthropologist. Only on TV, in real life anthropologists don’t usually look like that! After a talking to from Letitia, Karen moved up her wedding to Freddy and has vowed to get Nick out of her life. Yeah right!

Finally Brian and his son Brian Jr. did a little cute bonding and planned some father son time together. Meanwhile Jeremy learned to try and live without the Darling money to impress people and started parking cars in one of the hotels they own.

I still am waiting for Nick’s father to turn up. I believe I read on TVGuide that Peter Strauss has been cast as Dutch, but it wasn’t said if it was for flashbacks or not. I think Dutch is alive and maybe even faked his own death for some reason.
