Heroes: Lizards
So Surresh, in investigating the illness striking the Heroes, came upon The Haitian. The Haitian had the illness, and Surresh was able to save his life. The Haitian, upon finding out Surresh was working for “The Company,” seemingly erased his memory and fled. Of course it was all a set-up to fool “The Company,” as The Haitian arrived in California at Copy Kingdom to see Mr. Bennett as the episode ended. It looks like the old team is back together! Okay I do have to talk about something that is bothering me here. The Bennetts are supposed to be hiding out, not drawing attention to themselves. How in the world do they afford the huge house they live in when the dad works as a clerk at Copy Kingdom?
Claire meanwhile continued to draw the attention of her new boyfriend to be Wes. He wanted to give her a book he felt she’d be interested in reading about people evolving and developing powers of regeneration, but Claire brushed him off. She then found out her car, which she left unlocked, was stolen. This was seemingly just brushed off in this episode, but I have a feeling it will lead to something bigger down the road. Later Claire decided to test her powers and cut off her toe, which grew back. Ewwwwww! Unfortunately for her, Wes saw her and she saw him watching her. She tried to chase him down, not realizing he flew off. He left the book behind for her . . . it’s Surresh’s fathers book of course.
Poor Peter, stuck in Ireland with no idea who he is. Some Irish mobsters are holding him captive, they think he stole their shipment of ipods. The mobster’s sister is guarding Peter, and there seems to be a love interest developing between them. She also realized he has the ability to heal really really fast. Peter later saved the mobster leader’s sister from being attacked by a rival gang. He discovered at this point he has a lot of different powers. The mobster though wasn’t too pleased, as now there is some blood feud started between two families over this. He has to pay up, and wants Peter to help them do a job. In exchange, he’s going to give Peter his identity back! Seems they took his wallet and everything on him when they found him and know who he is. Now I’m assuming somewhere later down the road, Peter’s situation and story will connect back up with the others. As of now, I just can’t figure out what the heck is going on with him.
Angela Petreli was brought in for questioning about Koto’s death last week, and realized Matt was reading her mind. Later she was mysteriously attacked by an invisible enemy. She lived, and revealed to Matt that she, like Koto, was being targeted. We did learn years ago the group of them did something terrible and this is why they are being killed, for revenge.
Maya and Alejandro continued to try and make their way to America to find a doctor to heal Maya. A fortune teller on the way told Maya whatever was inside of her was so black that it could kill the devil, and she was evil. A woman agreed to help them try and make it across the border, but when Maya and her brother were separated when the border patrol showed up . . . . bad things happen! It seems Maya’s powers kick in when she’s separated from her brother. He eyes turn black, she cries black tears and sucks the life out of anyone near her. Later Alejandro reconnected with her . . . . and we learn he has powers too! Somehow he’s able to absorb the blackness Maya puts out and reverse the deaths she causes! It’s pretty clear they are going to end up meeting with Surresh for help at some point this season.
Back in the past, as everyone guessed, Hiro took Kensei’s samurai armor and ran off to save the blacksmith’s daughter from the bandits. He let everyone believe he was Kensei, to try and fix the wrongs he created by coming into the past. However later the bandits returned and filled the real Kensei with arrows! Hiro thought he was dead . . . until Kensei healed himself! Yup, he just discovered he has powers. It seems Kensei is the beginning of the Heroes, given his symbol later became the symbol for “The Company,” and is now the symbol being stamped on Koto and Angela’s pictures as a sign their death is coming. I still think somehow Kensei will travel to the future and has far more to do with “The Company” then we think. That or he has a descendant who will of course look just like him.
Next week marks the return of Nikki and Mica (DL looks dead dead dead) . . . . as well as Sylar who seems to have amnesia as well?
I had the same question: how can Mr. Copy Center Guy afford THAT house and a NEW CAR for Claire??? Must be The Company paid well and he stashed some away. (Or he knew the “Midas” guy and had some trash turned to gold.)
Claire cutting off her toe was GROSS. (Like those scissors would do the job!) She was so willing to jump off buildings to figure out her “skills” when it was just healing. I’m afraid to ask what else she’s going to chop off to test her limits now.

A few things…
RE: Kensei – I think he is immortal, as was rumored a long time ago, not just capable of healing. This leads me to believe that he is a part of the original Company (with Kaito, Angela and Papa Petrelli, Simone’s father, etc) and is behind the deaths. Not through time travel, but just living a really long time.
RE: Peter – Okay, this feels like a major blooper or plothole to me. We know that in order for Peter to tap into the powers he has obtained he has to think of the people he obtained them from. HOW is he doing that if he doesn’t REMEMBER them? I couldn’t stopped questioning that this whole episode, right from the beginning when they showed the last scene from last week.

Peter doesnt have to think of the people themselves just how they made him feel to activate his various powers, so i guess we are to assume that its just the various emotions running thru him that are accessing his powers without him having a understanding of them or control like he did in the first season.

Heres a thought…maybe kensei is the one that killed kaito…the guy who pushed him off the roof didnt exactly stay dead along side him the next day. So Kensei may just be immortal and have powers along to what claire has.
Multiple people can have the same power obviously..hense claires new boy toy.

An interesting question – if Sylar has amnesia and doesn’t remember his pushy mother, will he still be evil? That would be an interesting twist, to have him turn good. Of course, we all know he’d eventually regain his memory (or his nature) and go on another killing spree.

Erin: I was thinking the same thing!
Something tells me that Peter and Sylar’s amnesia is going to last all season. Sylar is going to turn good while Peter, working as a criminal with his captors, is going to turn “evil”. The season will end with a confrontation between the two (and possibly others, obv.) and in the last moment they will regain their memories…and still fight.
Of course I’m probably totally wrong and I really don’t want the finale to reflect Season One’s finale and it probably won’t, but yeah. Just thinking outloud.

Im thinking the “Company” is going to try to reprogram Sylar for their own needs.
