Brothers and Sisters Premier
Last night marked the return of my favorite new show from last season, “Brothers and Sisters.” Let’s talk about what happened!
Last season the first episode surrounded Kitty’s birthday and William’s death, so naturally this seasons premier marked Kitty’s birthday and the one year anniversary of William’s death.
Nora has been living with Rebbecca still. Kitty’s been on the campaign trail with Robert, Kevin has been busy with Jason, Sarah’s been busy with her kids and is still separated from Joe, Tommy’s been busy with his new daughter and wife Julia who has been depressed since William’s death and Saul has been busy staying in the closet.
Kitty returned home for her birthday, and to go dress shopping for her wedding. However Nora was upset that Kitty and Robert keep talking about Justin serving in Iraq in all their interviews. Kitty says they are questioned about it, they don’t bring it up. Nora is also upset Kitty won’t get Robert to find out if Justin is okay, they haven’t heard from him in weeks. Kitty won’t use Robert that way, but the truth is she’s asked and he won’t bend the rules, even for her.
Kevin and Jason’s happy little relationship hit a snag when Jason has been ordered by the Bishop of his church to go to Malaysia to help build a school, and he might be gone for up to a year. This story was written in as the actor (Eric Winter) has a new show on CBS airing later this month. Kevin ultimately has decided to wait for Jason, so I’m wondering if they plan to bring Jason back should the other show tank?
Sarah and Joe had a little sex in the afternoon, and she was later hopeful that they could work things out. When she asked him to come back home, he said no . . . he wants the divorce! Sleazeball! Why do I suspect he has already moved on and found someone new? I loath Joe even more now!
Rebbecca decided to throw Kitty a birthday party, which Kitty didn’t appreciate. At the party all the tensions going on in the family came to a head, and Rebbecca and Kitty had it out. Rebbecca was sick of trying to make things between her and Kitty work when Kitty was always a bitch to her for no reason at all. Kitty eventually apologized, and it looks like they are going to try and work at building a relationship. The last Walker has finally seemingly accepted Rebbecca into the family.
Robert surprised Kitty and Nora with the news that Justin was on a mission and is fine, and is headed back to the base. However later he got news on the way they hit enemy fire, there were casualties! The episode came to an end with nobody knowing if Justin is alive, which of course we know he is.
All in all, a great episode all around. I’m peeved Jason is leaving Kevin, and it looks like we have a long wait to see what happens there. Joe leaving Sarah has me livid as well, I just want to punch that guy out! It looks like this season Tommy is going to get more of a storyline with the problems with Julia at home, so I’m looking forward to that. Then there is Uncle Saul, I can’t wait till his secret comes out so to speak!
Perhaps Kevin should go with Jason to build a school. He DEFINITELY needs to have his ego taken down a few notches. Perhaps some blisters and a little dose of the less fortunate would do him some good. (I totally wanted to punch him when he went off on Jason for having to go away. Like he asked to be assigned on a mission!)
The Kitty v Nora wedding dress showdown was the best part of the whole dang episode.
Agree — Joe is pretty sleazy and he totally bagged someone else. He’s a chronic failure at having a committed relationship. I wonder what this means for Sarah?

Dustin,
Did you dislike Joe last season? Because I am rather shocked how they are making him out this season. It seems last season he was a loving and caring father and then all of a sudden he ‘cheats!’ But in all reality, was he the bad guy in that incident? It was Rebecca who blamed him, just so she wouldn’t look bad. Now the truth has finally come out and if anything it proves Joe was trying to protect Rebecca because she just got in the family and they were beginning to like her. Kinda a good thing, but kinda stupid, since it broke him and Sarah up.
But, now I don’t understand why they are turning him into this awful, horrible guy. And, then I have heard he is going to sue for custody of the children. Is he crazy now too? I just don’t like how one season he is this amazing person and now he sucks. Is is because the real person who plays Joe wants to leave the show?
Just curious,
Mel

I didn’t hate him, but they did slowely turn him into a jerk. They did hint that Rebecca might not have been the first time he strayed, there was that other “hot mom” he gave lessons to and Sarah was suspicious of.
