Hidden Palms Just Got Good!
Posted by Dustin on 06.06.2007 at 10:47 pm
So tonight “Hidden Palms” got goooooood! We are talking mystery, drama and supernatural stuff here.
The show started with Greta, Cliff and Johnny at the pool. A huge party was going on at the country club that night, Cliff was telling Johnny all the kids head to the party shack (some side building) to basically drink and party while the adults did their boring thing. Johnny said this wasn’t his thing, but didn’t reveal why. Later he pressed Cliff about Eddie and how he died. Cliff revealed that Eddie killed himself.
Johnny went to a AA meeting and then headed home and called his step-dad Bob and mom out at dinner over Eddie’s suicide. Johnny figured it would have to be disclosed when they bought the house, but it seems his mom didn’t know. Both Johnny and his mom were furious Bob bought this house and didn’t tell them that someone committed suicide in Johnny’s room. Bob apologized, but it wasn’t doing much good. We also learned that Bob is/was Johnny’s father’s business partner! Can’t believe I didn’t see that one coming.
That night, Johnny got an instant message on his PC from a mysterious screen name. The person basically warned Johnny that he was in danger. Johnny pressed for details, who were they and what did they know? They simply said you’ve been warned.
The next day Cliff got creepy again, warning Greta she wouldn’t be with Johnny. Greta mentioned she didn’t like what they were “doing” to him. It was all very cryptic, but would soon possibly make sense.
Meanwhile Johnny’s friend Nikki showed up, he met her in rehab. It was apparent they may have dated, or at least liked one another. Nikki’s father won’t let her move back home until she proves she’s clean, she’s living in a halfway house in town. Nikki wasn’t too thrilled to learn Johnny is liking Greta. Cliff however took an immediate liking to Nikki. From the start you knew he was up to no good at all with Nikki.
Later Greta and Johnny had a bonding sessions. Greta revealed her mom died when she was younger from an illness. Johnny opened up and admitted he was in rehab, which is where he met Nikki. They discussed the party shack party, Johnny was planning to go with Nikki. At one point Greta said “You’ve been warned,” which made Johnny do a double take as that is what the mysterious IMer said to him.
At the party Cliff purposefully spiked Nikki’s drink, when she specifically asked for a soda. However after seeing Greta with Johnny, and Cliff saying Johnny has been hot for her since moving here, Nikki got plastered and made a fool of herself at the adults’ party by dancing and singing on stage. Later when Johnny’s parents came home talking about “that girl” they were shocked to see her in their house being sick as Johnny and Gretta tended to her.
Nikki, still drunk, told Greta she was nice, but she didn’t like her. Greta and Johnny had a serious make-out session, then Nikki cried to Johnny how nobody loved her and she had no one. Obviously we are setting some kind of love-dependency triangle here.
The end of the show is what really made the whole episode. Johnny got another IM from the mystery person, Johnny demanded to know who they were. Cue the video cam feed. A person appeared in a monster mask. Johnny, upon examining the background of the room . . . realized it was his room! The mask came off and the person claimed they were Eddie, the boy who killed themselves in his room. Eddie said “Welcome to my world.”
VERY creepy, and opens many possibilities. First, was the guy really Eddie on the camera? Johnny doesn’t know what Eddie looks like, so this could be something Cliff is doing to him. But why? Of course if it is Eddie, what in the heck is going on? Perhaps Eddie didn’t kill himself and he’s trying to warn Johnny he could be next? I don’t know but I loved it! I’m kind of leaning towards this is some sick joke and the guy on camera isn’t Eddie.

JERICHO” PICKED UP FOR MIDSEASON — A LETTER FROM NINA TASSLER TO “JERICHO” FANS
Wow!
Over the past few weeks you have put forth an impressive and probably unprecedented display of passion in support of a prime time television series. You got our attention; your emails and collective voice have been heard.
As a result, CBS has ordered seven episodes of “Jericho” for mid-season next year. In success, there is the potential for more. But, for there to be more “Jericho,” we will need more viewers.
A loyal and passionate community has clearly formed around the show. But that community needs to grow. It needs to grow on the CBS Television Network, as well as on the many digital platforms where we make the show available.
We will count on you to rally around the show, to recruit new viewers with the same grass-roots energy, intensity and volume you have displayed in recent weeks.
At this time, I cannot tell you the specific date or time period that “Jericho” will return to our schedule. However, in the interim, we are working on several initiatives to help introduce the show to new audiences. This includes re-broadcasting “Jericho” on CBS this summer, streaming episodes and clips from these episodes across the CBS Audience Network (online), releasing the first season DVD on September 25 and continuing the story of Jericho in the digital world until the new episodes return. We will let you know specifics when we have them so you can pass them on.
On behalf of everyone at CBS, thank you for expressing your support of “Jericho” in such an extraordinary manner. Your protest was creative, sustained and very thoughtful and respectful in tone. You made a difference.
Sincerely,
Nina Tassler
President, CBS Entertainment
P.S. Please stop sending us nuts : )
DH And Grey’s Casting News

First up, Ausiello at TVGuide.com has revealed that Nicolette Sheridan (Edie) is NOT leaving “Desperate Housewives.” However he didn’t say she wasn’t dead either. As many of you have said, she could start some Mary-Alice type narrating.
Meanwhile, Entertainment Weekly are saying TR Knight will be back on “Grey’s” next year, with a hefty raise it seems. Issiah Washington (Burke’s) future is still not know.
Kitchen Life Is Simply Hell
Posted by Dustin on 06.05.2007 at 12:00 am
I watched a double dose of reality TV tonight. First I tuned into “Hell’s Kitchen” on Fox as everyone suggested I try it. I have not watched previous seasons, I have only occasionally seen Gordon Ramsey dropping the F-bomb on his BBC show “Gordon Ramsey’s F Word.” I think this is the British version of “Hell’s Kitchen,” but I’m not sure. (Speaking of BBC, Footballers Wives season 5 starts this week!)
First up, I have to ask why anyone in their right mind would want to go on this show? The man swore and insulted everyone on the show, forcing many of them to tears multiple times. Fun . . . . NOT! I do think he needs some better sayings, I mean what does gnats piss taste like?
Anyways, for those who have never seen it, here is the quick run down. Gordon Ramsey runs some restaurant in LA called “Hell’s Kitchen” where the cooking staff is made up of various people from various jobs and levels of experience. He split them into two teams, men and women, and set them cooking for the restaurants opening night. It’s a contest, the winner becomes head chef of their own place and gets a large some of money to run it. Each week one chef goes home.
This week the kitchen was a disaster. The show claimed the opening of the restaurant was the hottest ticket in town. Like I said, I have not seen past seasons, but if they are like this then why would anyone want to go eat there? The guests sat around for two hours with no food, most got up and finally left. I think only a few little appetizers ever made it out. They ended up running out of things like vegetable stock and chickens (how do you run out of these things in a restaurant?) Good thing the guests didn’t get their food, the chefs were crying so much who knows what dripped into the food!
I don’t know if they always split the teams up by sexes, but what a mistake that was! Neither team could get along, they were all too busy being caddy or trying to show one another up. One poor guy just kept going off in the corner to cry, and it looks like he’s going to have some health issue later in the season from the previews. Most of the focus tonight was on the women though, who were down right nasssssttttyyyy to one another. Let’s talk about the one woman who everyone talked bad about for being a cook at a waffle house. They stuck her in the corner peeling potatoes or something because they thought she wasn’t good enough, but she was the only one who ended up being able to fry eggs and get something done. Still they all thought she should be the one to go home. I felt so bad for her.
In the end the women’s team had to nominate two of their own for the chopping block, the winning member of the team picked by Gordon had to nominate them. This woman told one fellow teammate Tiffany that she wouldn’t be going home, but nominated her in the end and guess who went home? Yup, poor Tiffany. That was down right meaaaaannnn!
From next week’s previews it looks like one of the men is simply thrown off the show after some huge mistake. It looks like he didn’t de-bone chickens or something and served them to the customers with small bones that could potentially choke people. Like I said, who would want to eat at this place?
After “Hell’s” I tuned into “Simple Life.” It was the second part of the weight loss camp. Paris and Nicole were in deep trouble after last week’s little refrigerator stunt. They were told they had to rebuild the building they destroyed trying to bust open the refrigerator. I don’t think I ever saw them rebuild it though.
This week there really wasn’t much craziness going on as they got serious to try and help their female team members lose some weight. After helping them cheat they had to step it up, because Susan Powter was pissed after a weigh in! Can I just say I used to really enjoy crazy Susan Powter, but I think she’s just gone crazy now. I mean she had them doing cupping to balance their chakras on this episode to help lose weight? Anyways the guy camp counselor Hunter was all after Paris in this episode, taking off his shirt at every opportunity to impress her following Nicole’s bad advice. In the end the girls lost more weight than the boys and all was right in Paris and Nicole’s worlds (until Paris had to go to jail today).
Honestly it wasn’t as funny of an episode as the season premier. Next week is when they help little girls who come for beauty pageant camp. That one should be fun. I loved the preview with Nicole saying one of the little girls looked liked she was going to murder her! Then another one’s mother is crying because Paris and Nicole taught her daughter how to flip the bird. Sorry can’t feel bad for you, I mean if you saw Paris and Nicole you should have taken your daughter and run!
