Lost on “Lost”
Many of you have written or commented on other shows I should pick up or try. Believe me, I have watched a lot of shows, or tried to 🙂 In some cases I just don’t have enough time, in other cases something else is on at the same time that I normally watch. There are other shows that I only watch if nothing else is on and feel I just don’t follow closely enough to do a weekly comment on. “Lost” is a show that everyone in America loves, except for me it seems. I watched the first few episodes and just never got into it really.
Now the show is watched in my house and if I’m in the room I’ll somewhat pay attention. However I don’t know enough to keep up with the hard core fans I’m afraid. I realize it’s one of those shows that is fun to discuss and theorize about. This summer if I have time I MAY try and do a DVD marathon and catch up. We’ll see. Otherwise if I keep this blog/site up then I could have a guest blogger cover “Lost” perhaps 🙂
With the primetime season winding down in May, we have the whole slew of summer reality shows on the way as well as primetime summer fillers the networks didn’t want to run during the main season but give a chance during the summer. I may be picking up some of these (oh I will be watching “Project Runway”), but I’ll also continue to throw out any info about the primetime shows we all love that aren’t back till fall.
Remember, this blog/site is still a big experiment and a work in progress 🙂
There was an article on MSNBC yesterday summarizing a poll that was done on the show’s that should be axed. Lost topped the ratings as the #1 show that should be wrapped up and called done.
I never got into it either. A friend who watches says it lost its umph when it finally came back on this season.

A lot of my friends have hated Lost this season. There have also been a lot of rumors that some of the main stars may not come back for long next season. I think next season will probably be the last one.

I have been a Lost fan from the start, but i have to agree, Dustin, with your friends, this season has been quite a let down. First, with the early season hiatus: sooo frustrating! And more recently, the writing in the episodes. The writing was known to jump back and forth in the past and present and from person to person in different episodes, but the one thing tying it all together was an ongoing story in the present that kept things continous. Unfortunately, this season, they are still going past and present but they aren’t tying things together well enough. It takes several weeks before they go back and revisit a character. I don’t seem to remember it taking that long in previous seasons.
And, perhaps, the MOSt disappointing problem with this season, is that there have been one-too-many twists that they are expecting us to just swallow..Obviously, Lost required a certain amount of suspended disbelief, but Locke’s father somehow being on the island??? C’mon! I felt gypped! Claire being Jack’s sister was an ok twist, but pointless since neither character knows. Anyways, i know you aren’t a big lost follower, but i just had to put my 2 cents in…thanks, Charity

I would have to disagree. I really didn’t watch too much of season 1 or 2 (had to get the DVDs to catch up) and then got into season 3 and have seen all the episodes. I think some people who are not as into Lost this season put way too much thought into things, like you want instant gratification right now. It doesn’t happen that way and that’s why I love the show. It’s the subtle clues and answers that let me rack my brain and keep me watching. I think this season has been great. I didn’t like the big break in the middle, but if they fix that next season with back to back episodes straight like 24 supposedly does, then I think it will be terrific. I really think the show is terrific. I went back to the first episode the other day actually and I still get goosebumps watching the first 10 minutes of the show!!

Since i have been watching since the beginning, instant gratification is definitely not the issue as far as i am concerned! lol Seriously, the show has changed some…and i think if you were to see the previous seasons, you would understand. I am not saying this year is a total loss, there have been some really good parts. Last weeks episode about Juliette was good as was the story line with Charlie’s possible impending death/Desmonds visions. But overall, they haven’t seemed to able to keep up with everyone the same. And then in the midst of continuing story lines they threw in Paolo and Nikki. I didn’t mind new characters, but i still found it odd to just kill them off so quickly.
I do like the show and definitely would not stop watching, its just that i think this season hasn’t quite matched up with the past two. Thanks, Charity

I was a die hard LOST fan at the beginning, but it got way too slow and it LOST my attention. It is time to wrap it up on the island…and maybe warp them into a different scenario….LOST in the Desert…LOST Underwater….LOST in Space… How many days has it been is LostTime? Three or four months?

I am a faithful LOST watcher and enjoy the show, I must say they need to answer some questions or at least give the viewers something to feel at ease with. They could have Russo united with her daughter or Jack and Claire could explore their relationship. You would think Jack and Claire would be in more scenes together and have some kind of bound or connection. I do like what happened this week and that was Sawyer and Lockes father…..That was good enough for me to watch it next week.

I love love love Lost!
It seems like I can figure out every t.v. shows plot from the pilot to it’s finale, which kinda bothers me. I wish there was more unusual television shows out there. But with Lost…I am lost, and I’m lov’in every minute of it! I just can’t figure it out, it’s like an unsolvable puzzle. Just when you think you figured it out your last piece doesn’t fit. Every show has it’s lows and highs, this one is just such a mind game it makes it entertaining even when it isn’t. I just hope it ends on a high note and doesn’t worry about forcing more seasons.
